Hanley Farm

Hanley Farm

The Hanley family established their land claim in the Bear Creek Valley outside present-day Jacksonville in 1857, one year after hostilities ceased in the Rogue Indian Wars. Mary Hanley, a daughter of the original settlers and a leading figure in preserving Jackson County history, donated the property to the Southern Oregon Historical Society in 1982, and it is maintained as a working farm as well as historical site.
