Elk City, Oregon (grange hall)

Elk City, Oregon (grange hall)

The old grange hall is one of a handful of buildings remaining in the four blocks that make up Elk City, thought to be the first settlement in Lincoln County. Founded in 1868 as Newton, it changed to Elk City in 1888 (one of at least 15 other ‘elk’ place names in Oregon). (Platinum/Palladium print from digital negative.)
