Traces of about 15 miles of ruts left by wagon trains on the Oregon Trail between 1840-1860 can still be seen at Flagstaff Hill, where the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center now draws thousands of visitors annually since it opened on the hilltop in 1992.
