Wastina Town Site

Wastina Town Site

A partially buried pile of rusty tins, possibly remnants of an Army encampment during desert war games held here in the 1940s, marks the site of Wastina, the youngest of the homestead towns. Its name is said to have come from an Indian word meaning “beautiful valley.”
