These ruins a few miles east-southeast of Sink are as near as I could determine where the town of Cliff once stood. Construction of the high-voltage power lines through this area reportedly wiped out what was left of the town in the 1960s. Even today this is quite a remote area, with Peters’ Sink to the north, Fossil Lake to the south, Four Craters Lava Beds to the west, and the Lost Forest to the east.
