A native of Ohio and an Oregonian since 1976, I discovered what photography could mean to me the first time I looked through the ground glass on an old 4x5 press camera 1985, and ever since I've enjoyed a romance with the iconic, the serene, and the patina of things past their prime. For the past couple of decades I've been chronicling the disappearing traces of Oregon’s bygone days, photographing with large-format film cameras and printing in the traditional platinum process, the most permanent and tonally rich printing medium known. These days I also photograph with digital cameras and make archival pigment inkjet prints, and for a time had fun with manipulating Polaroid SX-70 prints. Most recently, I've been photographing with a pinhole camera made from a cigar box and a 5x7 film back, and have rediscovered the sense of discovery that makes photography exciting. The prints shown on this site are available for purchase by contacting me directly. Original 8x10" platinum/palladium prints (in acid-free mattes) range in price from $150 to $300. The manipulated Polaroid SX-70 prints are available as 10x10" digital reproductions, unmatted, for $50. The pigment ink prints can be purchased, unmatted, in a range of sizes up to 11x17, for $50 to $150. Buyer pays shipping costs.
